The Society of Philosophy Advocates (SOPHIA) is a university-wide organization of undergraduate students of Trinity University of Asia (TUA) who have been drawn to and fascinated by the intellectually challenging contemporary issues and topics of both Theoretical and Applied Philosophy which they deem to be of vital significance in their individual and social lives to approach and deal with this world--and "all possible worlds" [with due respect to the great German thinker Leibniz]--more meaningfully, more intelligently, more daringly, more responsibly, more creatively.
To make the Society an organization composed of truly philosophically-minded students, we have done away with open membership. Generally, membership is limited by invitation issued out by the University's Philosophy faculty members only to those who have been outstanding in their past and present Philosophy (101 and 102) classes.
It sounds exclusivist but not really. If, next time, you can prove yourself to be performing very well in your Philosophy class, you will surely be invited!
